Pastel Goth Christmas Gifts for People Who Hate Tinsel

Some people want a scented candle and a cosy blanket. Other people want a skeleton flamingo at a birthday party, a mackerel sitting on strawberry ice cream, or a black cat who has professionally decided not to feel anything today.

This guide is for buying presents for the second kind of person. Everything here comes from my own studio, and it is sorted by what you actually want to spend rather than by category, because that is how gift shopping really works.

Under 10 euro

Stickers at 3,90 euro are the honest small gift. They go on a laptop, a water bottle or a sketchbook, and nobody has to find shelf space for them.

Printable art downloads are 9,90 euro. The file arrives immediately, which matters more in December than at any other time of year. The recipient prints it at whatever size their frame happens to be.

If the person paints or draws, The Candy Decay Color System is 9,99 euro and is a proper guide rather than a list of tips.

Under 25 euro

The Candy Decay Collector's Club is 7,90 euro a month, and there is a gift version if you want the whole thing wrapped up as one present. A postcard arriving in the letterbox every month beats one object opened once.

Wall art prints start at 22 euro. Strawberry Graveyard and The Last Dessert are the two that land best with people who like their sweetness with something rotting underneath.

Under 40 euro

T-shirts are 25 euro on organic cotton. The Weird Pigeon one is the safest bet for someone whose humour is slightly off.

Hand-signed and embossed art prints are 35 euro. These are 21 x 21 cm, signed by me, and they are the version to pick when you want the gift to feel like an object rather than a poster. Not Today, The Feelings Are Huge is the one people send me messages about.

The big one

Original paintings run from 320 to 520 euro. They are 15 x 15 cm panels with around twenty hours of work in each, and there is exactly one of every single one. If you are buying for someone who already owns prints and has run out of wall, this is the step up.

A note on timing

Physical items need a little room for shipping, and December post is December post. As a rough guide:

• Germany: 3 to 5 days, so ordering by around 18 December is usually fine.
• Rest of the EU: often 10 to 15 days, so aim for early December, around the 8th at the latest.
• USA and everywhere further away: up to 20 days, so please order by the beginning of December.

Digital downloads and the printable art arrive in minutes, which is why they exist. If you are reading this on the 23rd, that is your answer.
