About me
Hi, I'm Claudia — the artist behind Paintranger.
I live in a small village in northern Germany with my husband, our two children and our two cats and a head that is constantly overflowing with strange ideas.
I'm neurodivergent and was diagnosed with both autism and ADHD. My mind rarely sits still. It connects things that don't seem to belong together: pigeons and pizza, strawberries and bones, cute animals and decay. What might look random from the outside feels completely natural to me.
In early 2026, my life changed unexpectedly when I suffered a carotid artery dissection. Recovery forced me to slow down and rethink many things. It was a frightening experience, but it also pushed me back toward creating art that felt honest and truly mine.
Out of that period grew the style I now call Candy Decay.
Candy Decay is my own name for the strange little universe that appears throughout my work: bright colours, junk food, scavengers, sweetness, trash, humour, beauty, and the quiet reminder that everything eventually changes. It celebrates the weird, the overlooked, and the imperfect.
Every painting begins with a strange idea that refuses to leave my brain alone. A pigeon eating pizza. A raccoon guarding treasures. A strawberry becoming something slightly unsettling. These characters help me explore the strange balance between joy and decay, comfort and discomfort, innocence and chaos.
Through Paintranger, I invite people into that world.
A world where weird is welcome.
