About Paintranger
Hi, I'm Claudia, the artist behind Paintranger.
I create colorful surreal mixed media art in my own Candy Decay style — strange little worlds where sweetness and decay exist side by side.
My artworks are filled with cute creepy characters, weird pigeons, scavengers, junk food, bones and forgotten treasures. Each piece tells a bittersweet story about life, impermanence and finding beauty in unexpected places.

Recurring guests
The pigeon in the top hat and the strawberry keep coming back. They turn up again and again in my paintings.
My signature bees
The bees keep coming back as well. They are my signature bees, and one of them is always naked.
The green one
He holds the whole picture together. All that pink needs something green to lean on, and having him turn up as an actual character pulls the room back into the late nineties and early two thousands.
The tooth
A giant tooth sitting in the middle of this colorful little world. It reminds me of those dreams so many people seem to have where their teeth suddenly become loose or start falling out.
Nothing explicitly terrible is happening, but your whole body seems to understand that something is very wrong.

How to Be Nice
For me, that is partly a joke about autism and the feeling that everyone else received some kind of social instruction manual that I somehow missed.
There are all these invisible rules people seem to understand automatically, while I sometimes feel like I am still trying to figure out what the rules even are.
