Buying for them is hard because a joke gift is only funny once, and they can tell the difference between something genuinely strange and something that is trying to be quirky.

A fish on a dessert

Ocean Dropout is a fairly realistic mackerel sitting on a mound of strawberry ice cream, with bones, bees and a small sign reading "sea you later". It is not a joke with a punchline. It is two familiar things placed together in a way the brain refuses to accept, which is funnier and lasts longer.

Cat Acquisition Unit 78 is a UFO with absolutely no interest in humans. It came for the orange cat, and the tiny green alien in charge does not look sorry about it.

Breakfast, but suspicious

Fried Egg puts a glowing fried egg, a dripping strawberry, two curious bees and a candy-yellow skull on the same plate. Kitchen art for the friend whose breakfast nook should ask questions.

Why these work as gifts

A good weird image keeps giving something back on the fifth look. There is always another small painted label, another bone, another bee. That is deliberate: I hide things at a size that rewards attention instead of shouting. Your friend will find something new in month three and text you about it.
