I paint the Food Studies in oils, which stay workable for longer and let me push, blend and layer the color while keeping visible brushwork. The trade-off is simple: oil paint dries slowly.
Before shipping, the surface is checked and the painting receives its final protective varnish once it is sufficiently dry. Freshly painted works therefore usually need around 6 weeks after purchase before they are ready to leave the studio.
